Background
The arterial pulse wave contains a wealth of information on both the heart and the blood vessels. Consequently, several pulse wave analysis techniques have been proposed to assess cardiovascular properties from the pulse wave. However, to our knowledge very few open source tools are available for analysing pulse waves. Therefore, we sought to develop an open source pulse wave analysis tool to facilitate research into signal processing techniques for use with the arterial pulse wave.
